Where It All Began

Nature's Nurture by MLS didn't start as a business plan — it started with a personal struggle.

My name is Morena, and I'm the founder of Nature's Nurture by MLS.

I was born and raised in the Philippines, where for four decades I never once had to think twice about what I put on my skin. Any soap, any skincare, any laundry detergent — nothing bothered me. My skin was never an issue.

That all changed after I moved to New Jersey in October 2019. Nearly five years after settling into my new home, I woke up one morning to a severe itch on my arms. Over the following days, the rashes spread — to my legs, my stomach, my thighs, my back, and eventually all over my body. I was shocked, confused, and honestly frightened.

After seeing a dermatologist and going through a biopsy, I was diagnosed with dermatitis. Suddenly, my daily routine looked completely different. I was taking medications, applying creams, and carefully scrutinizing every product I used.

The Frustrating Cycle

Finding products that worked for my sensitive skin became a full-time challenge. I'd discover a soap that seemed fine — and use it for months — only for it to eventually trigger a flare-up. Then I'd have to start the search all over again. When something worked, I'd buy it by the dozen, knowing that one day, without warning, it might stop agreeing with my skin. It was exhausting.

So I did what I always do when I need answers: I researched. I read everything I could about soaps, balms, and skincare for sensitive skin. And then I decided to make something myself — something I could trust, made with ingredients I could understand and control.

From My Kitchen to Your Skin

The first batch I made was for me. But I shared some with friends and family — and what happened next surprised me. They came back asking for more. And they offered to pay.

That's when it clicked: if I was struggling to find products that worked for my skin, there were surely others going through the same thing. Why not offer something made with real care, real ingredients, and a real story behind it?

That's where Nature's Nurture by MLS was born.

Products Born from Real Problems

Every product you see in our shop today exists because of a real need — either something I experienced myself, or something someone close to me was going through. I continued my research, expanded my formulations, and developed a growing line of natural wellness products: handcrafted soaps, botanical face and body oils, Botanical scalp and hair oil, soothing balms, magnesium spray, and relaxing bath soaks.

Each one is made by hand, in small batches, right here in New Jersey — using thoughtfully selected ingredients without unnecessary additives and carefully formulated with intention.

I know what it feels like to search desperately for something that won't hurt your skin. I know the frustration of finding something that works, only to lose it. That's why I pour so much care into every product I make — because I'm not just making them for customers. I'm making them for people like me.
